Mendip Stud BBQSummer Shows, Western Week and other activities at The Mendip Stud

We are looking forward to a Summer of events at The Mendip Stud and we wanted to be sure you knew about them all well in advance so that you can plan ahead and not miss out. We are looking forward to seeing many people here during the coming months. For more detail on the activities below click on the links - where West Coast Circuit Shows are concerned please contact Jane Muir for all show details and info@themendipstud.com or www.showwestern.com for catering plans and their activities.

We are very aware of the pressure on pockets due to fuel increases and have tried to help offset some of these increases by offering a 'Double User Discount' on stable bookings for both shows. Detail can be found at the bottom of this information sheet. We are also offering our trainers a special tack room package to help with their planning and arrangements.

Book early to avoid disappointment
Please make sure you book clinic places and other pre-bookable events such as the first aid lecture as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Equine First Aid Lecture
June 25th at The Mendip Stud

Equine First AidBy request we are repeating the first aid lectures given by Tim Randle BVSc MRCVS and Nicko Robertson BVet Med MRCVS of the Stables Equine Practice on June the 25th. The courses earlier in the year were very well received and over subscribed and as a result we have been asked to re-run the day for those who could not attend in March.

The day covers a wide range of topics and situations, common accidents and emergencies with a particular focus on applying the correct first aid measures at the right time and gives guidelines and help in deciding when it becomes essential to seek veterinary help. Topics covered will be wounds, colic, severe lameness, respiratory distress, eye injuries, severe bleeding, laminitis & azoturia. It's a great opportunity to make sure you have the best possible chance of handling the emergency situation properly when things go wrong.

The morning classroom session and lecture is followed in the afternoon by practical work in the breed barn. The courses costs £95 +VAT including lunch. 50% subsidy for Students and those on BHS and NVQ courses.
